Hey Wizard, How did you go down the nats?
Heaps of my mates where commenting on it saying "do you the guy with Crystal Wizard?"
My reply- Yeah, that's one of my fellow vanners....

It's got everything to do with association......and name dropping.

All my mates love the new facelift (artwork especially)- Well done.

Yeha some pics would be great!

Hey I ran into this guy that sold me the statesman 6yrs ago and I was telling him about my van....His opinion was, shit to drive, wont be able to see, 202 shittest motor ever made by holden, will run like a slug and terrible to drive...only good thing is that the motor wont fail...and $8000 is way to much for a panel van..

This dude freaked me out....a bit...

I am excited for my van,,,,

As far as mods go for my 202

12 Port Yalla Terra Head

35900 Cam, 1.6 Rocker ARM 280,000 Lift

Timing 30:70 inlet / 70:30 manifold - slightly wider duration

1500 Hi Stalll

OK SO THATS WHAT A MATE AT AUTO BARN GAVE ME, WHAT DO YOU THINK , THEY ARE ALL PERFORMANCE PARTS, SO HOW MUCH POWER WILL IT GIVE ME I KNOW IT WILL HAVE A FAIR GRUNT TO IT

cheeers guys xo

For some reason, that guy doesn't like panos....
On this forum alone you will find hundreds (slighty exaggerated) of vanners who love nothing more than jumpin in a van and taking it for a squirt.
...Therefore this guy needs to shove his head up his ass........
Opinion is one thing, but trying to ruin someone's dream is another!!!

Best bet is speak to a local engine builder. He should give some good advice as well as get much better pricing on parts too.
I don't know much about the 202 parts personally.
But like I said- I personally think must dos are Electronic Ignition, holley and a sweet cam, for starters.

straight gas will give you more power than dual fuel as you de-tune the gas so the motor will still run on petrol. if you go straight gas you have the option of Gas Research carb or an Impco and that will bet better on ecconemy & power. but do you travel to remote places that may not have gas?

Hey Daz, 2 ltr dohc in a transit is nuthin but trouble.my father-inlaw has got a 98 & had to rebuild it twice now in 18months, first time a head gasket 2nd time cam chain jumped & hey presto there goes the valves into the pistons tops. last week he spun a bearing..now hes had enough and its on ebay minus the motor.
he spent so much on it, it almost makes you cry to see how cheap its listed.

If its going to be your daily drive I would seriously consider the option of a gas tank bolted up underneath where your spare wheel goes. Gas will save you cash and there is even a rebate at the moment. Daz is right about better performance with it tuned only to gas and he is also right about all servo's not having it.
My opinion do the gas option but don't give up your petrol tank! And once a month use fuel for a day or two. Your engine will love you for it and if you ever have to tow anything or just feel like overtaking someone on the freeway, you'll be glad you have a PETROL switch. Its like a vegetarian.....sometimes they just need a steak. Dual fuel is the go for sure. Its on my pano and its my favourite switch ever...I run my HQ pano on gas 90% of the time but when I'm towing my horse trailer or need power...petrol all the way. cheers

I go 100% with Pawso....... Best benefits of dual fuel, increase driving range, if gas system fails you can switch to petrol, gas needs water in the radiator - if you have a water issue, you can limp short distances on petrol......
Dual Fuel will be a compromise or both, if everything in relation to the engine spec when built & fuel/timing systems set correctly, you can get a hard running engine on both fuels...... Too Many Mechanic's are shit useless or lazy to build & tune correctly for both!

Straight Gas - If anything fails in the gas system, or you run out - Ya screwed & on a tow truck.
Straight Petrol - If anything shits itself, you can always GERRY rig something (washer bottle full of petrol case fuel pump failed- mmm nasty)
Dual Fuel - If anything fails, YOU GOT A BACK UP!
