Post by mr sinbin 17/12/2010, 2:26 am

Very Happy Very Happy hey guys, awesome news, finally got my van inspected and passed for rego yesterday morning after finishing putting the commodore v6 in it!!

havent really posted alot about it on here yet, but i will do a full write with pics so you guys can check it out!

was pretty stoked with it all and pretty proud of myself, first big conversion like this ive ever done, and aside from exhaust i did everything myself in the shed Very Happy

and man does it go sooooooooooooooooo much better then the old 202, runs and drives like a dream!

wasnt actually as hard to do as i thort it would b, but towards the end i seemed to get stuck on a few little things, like wiring up the inhibitor switch and the reverse lights on the new shifter and the thermo fan. but overall im extremely happy with it and feel like my old self again being bak behind the wheel Very Happy

anyway as soon as i get my sh*t together expect a write up and a few more photos lol

cheers!!

Looks like you enjoyed yourself with the swap.
Are you going to be putting the cover on top of the motor?

hey ramble, thanks mate, goes even better then it looks too lol

um i rung the RTA and they told me that as the engine falls under the capicity rules for an engine swap that i will not need an engineers cert. but im still a bit sceptical lol. its still registered so im driving atm but need to get a blue slip to get the engine numbers changed over, so i guess ill find out then if they say i need one lol.

My vans new heart!!! Empty new front

Post by mr sinbin 5/4/2011, 3:47 am

just thought id through some pics up of the new front end i got for my van. picked up entire wb statesman walk off front end for the van last weekend. it needs a bit of work, but for the price i couldnt say no Very Happy

the front has 2 small sections of rust in the radiator support that need to be cut and new bits welded in, the top nose section needs some rust repairs in one corner, the passenger side headlight reflectors need rechroming, and its in major need of a sand and respray lol

the inner guards it cam with are perfect, just need a sand and respray and the bonnet with the scoop needs some patches done at the front as the guy i bought it off had bonnet pins lol. but these will probably only end up as spares.

its the outter guards that are the main issue, some real dodgey bogging Evil or Very Mad has been done in the past and its gonna take a big effort to sort them out, lucky i dont really need them tho. they will be left till last and put away as spares if i can fix them up.

so yea all in all it needs a bit of work, but will keep me busy and look a treat on the van when its all done Very Happy

anyways pics lol oh and no that isnt pitting on the chrome grill, just rain drops lol

jb camira headlight lenses are a perfect match, also the plastic adjusters inside an replace the stato ones if theyve gone brittle. can get complete brand new jb unit for about 50 bucks in bgo
