Van Nats...
Howdy all,
Just a quick question. As some of you know I am a very new member here and am contemplating doing a road trip down to the nats at easter with my new van. Not sure if its just me but are many people on here actually going to this event? I just find it a little strange that a national van event is only weeks away and there has been virtually little recent discussion or promotion of the event. Never enterered one before so am just wondering if we should make the run down or not. There are so many choices of car events over easter to choose from. So any one planing on going?
Happy Cruising

Re: Van Nats...
Best thing is it's on a weekend and a long one to boot!
I will be making the trip along with the 60 or 70 others whom have confirmed their attendance....
If you haven't yet, get your entries in NOW!!!!!!!!!
Hope you do make the trip down, it is well work while & plenty of fun not to mention meeting all the other vanners from around Australia that I chat to here and on Facebook.
I have heard from numerous rev heads that they aren't going to Calder Parks Eastern Nats! and will be endeavouring to attend the Van Nats on the Sunday, along with a large contingent from Southern's Car Club (who host the Knox cruise nights - well in excess of 600 cars turn up monthly to these).
Get your entry in...... go for the meals option, bloody cheap for 2 cooked meals a day for 4 days.....
Look forward to rubbing shoulders with you and the other vanners I have yet to face to face with!
Cheers John.

Delay it a week and you can get married at the Nats, that way no travelling anywhere for the honeymoon.

It would be cool, but the amount of time we have spent planning this i think i would have a brain melt down if i had to change anything else

Re: Van Nats...
Hey all, was thinking I would come down the island for the cruise and probably stay to check out show day (not enter though). Is there a program / schedule of what is going on when? Do I need to send an entry in for this or just turn up?
Cheers

Hey all,
Well finally have got my entry in for the nats. Still unsure if my new van will have the mods I have planned for it finished in time, but if not I will drag my classic ol skool EH ute down for a bit of fun. Next best thing after a van has got to be a ute right (especially a classic 60,s Holden model)
Happy cruisin.

Van nats are always a good turn out, & more now the new generation of young vanners are coming along
many are quite as they prepare thier vans but come out raging at the nats
some are just natrauly quite like me
Re: Van Nats...
Sorry boys and girls had a bit of trouble getting here. the itinerary has almost been finalised, the cruise will be leaving the vanue at 11:00 sharp, lining up at 10:30 Saturday
The show will be on from 9:00am on the Sunday.
what were the other questions?
we have a few more entrants now, still not as many as we had hoped.
With regard to advertising, there has been very little as we had not planned on running this event this year and we have been stuffed around with sponsors and artwork so thanks the those that have contributed and helped.
The Nats is always a great evant and we are all looking forward to catching up with everyone again this year.
It will be on it will be fun and as someone said we have had a lot of people say they are coming but I will believe it when I see the colour of their entry form. (the money is Murrays problem) see you there.

Re: Van Nats...
not sure on the routing, but i'd say a little bit of a drive and then lunch at the other end, also playground and park etc. It's not that far, but we're probably going to cruise around the island as a bit of a rolling display.... just make sure you have a full tank of fuel by the time you join the convoy... there are servo's in Cowes and San Remo. The general store on the main drag before you turn off to go to the grounds also has fuel. Not sure on LPG though, best to tank up in Cowes or San Remo.

Howdy all,
Was wondering if anyone knows about the availability of car wash facilities down at Phillip Island? We are coming a long way and no doubt will be looking for somewhere to give the car a tub . Thanks in advance.

Re: Van Nats...
Hi Al,
Unless u pre-entered and pre-ordered your merchandise, there isn't going to be any spares... Unfortunately, with the responses we've had, and the fact that we have no major financial sponsors and pre-entries are down, we don't have the funds to buy a heap of merchandise. This nationals is essentially funded through Wasteland Vic members sponsorships with a few others as well, for which we are grateful.
Hi Van64,
There will be wash facilities on site... I think there is may b something in San Remo. We have re-iterated all along that this is a back to basics nationals. So, scrub-a-dub-dub and bring your duck.
Looking forward to seeing you all there.
