800 METRES!!!
SURELY we can go for a cruise around the track.
I said that i'd never do the Great Ocean Road unless i had a bike, and i was about 10k's away, that was bad enough, BUT to be 800 METRES away and not go for a cruise, now THAT is cruel.

Re: 2010 VAN NATS
Still waiting on final costs and breakdown of what, e.g. cars, people etc. As they are used to dealing with Bike's where there are only one or 2 people they are having some difficulty with us. Add to that we want prices for kids & juniors, prices with meals and without meals etc. We were hoping to have all the details before the meeting tonight but it looks like it might take a few more days before it is finalised.
On a brighter note, I think we have found a sponsor for the Stickers, (thanks Budgie) so we should have stickers. I have also been advised that Meguiars will sponsor. Have not received confirmation in writing yet but it looks good so far.
If anyone would like to sponsor the Nats, or knows of someone who would like to sponsor the event please drop an email to VanNats@live.com.au And we will respond as soon as possible.

Re: 2010 VAN NATS
Van Nats update. The VCV meeting was very informative in the feedback received and thank you for your input all who attended. Some of the points raised I will try to cover here:
What is happening with the Judging?
There will be judging, more formal than this year, especially for the top vans. There will be a top 10 and Vanners choice, (The vanners choice will be done slightly different to this year, similar to Port Mac Nats)
There will be other awards, not sure what but we are looking at more participation type awards rather than just show and shine. Also more participation from Sponsors in selecting some of the other trophies. More details to follow.
Hopefully entry forms will be finalised and prices sorted out in the next week, still a few bugs to iron out.
All entrants from the past 2 Nats will be sent entry forms. Hopefully they will also be available on line at the same time.
The VCV is already taking money from people who want to come to the nats. Murray will take any amount and provide a receipt. Any money collected can be put toward the Nats entry, the camp site etc. Kind of like a Christmas club account to help you to save for the Nats. Actual cost for enty is still to be advised. we are trying to get the prices down a bit before committing.
As we think of information it will be posted here so stay tuned.

Re: 2010 VAN NATS
after many drinks at Kurth Kiln it was decided on a theme for the Nats "Vantasy Island" because we are going to an island in Vans. (John came up with the idea, and we apologise to the US Vanners who have done it before but its a good name and suits the event) So for the theme you can come as anything related. use your imagination.
We also picked up a few more sponsors Murray & Kara $500, M&M $500 and Craig (When I have his business correct I will put it in I think it is Aurora Conversions but not sure, sorry Craig) $500.
We are still in negotiation with the venue but hope to have everything finalised by the end of this week. so Stay tuned.

Re: 2010 VAN NATS
Well, there we go we have also had a $500 sponsorship from AURORA RV CONVERSIONS,in Hallam VIC.Where Craig builds campervans, motor homes,slide-ons,bus conversions and special vehicles.
Craig is one of our newer VCV mambers so thanks Craig. I was also told SWAY & JAn wouild Sponsir $500 but I had already included that earlier, thank you all and to all those who are thinking about it, this sponsorship goes toward trying to keep the entry costs to a minimum so those less financial can still afford to attend the Nats, it also covers the costs of things like trophies, etc.
