It has an interesting colour scheme.
Also notice the rear goes upwards towards the front?
Different.

I knew I had seen this van before:

Whats going on with the trim
Why would anyone go from an 8 to a 6. That's just daft.
I have seen a stack of picks of the rear too with a heap of different ligh colours. Can not rmember where though.
$9000 if it is real and in as good a condition as it looks is a bloody good bargain me thinkin.

Re: Real Deal or Fake??????
Yeh mate went and checked it out yesterday... bloke rekons hes got an offer ok 8.5k but i rekon hes gotta say that. Unfortunately the photos have the opposite effect than photos of other Vans like stormbringer or Mirage (HLSN8)... ie it couls get pretty sad without a fair bit of work put into her, and depending on who puts in what work, it may still turn out to be disappointing for someone ( though the feeling of driving a Sandman away after purchase i'm sure is golden, it can't be priceless).
I was kind of hoping that the price was kept low because of the 6 cyl and a few other things, but now i've seen it i think its probably a few clicks overpriced. granted things are worth what people will pay for them, but honestly unless you're the type to completely overhaul a set of wheels there's probably going to be some heartache involved. saves me having to rearrange funds to get a Sandmanfor the time being.
Overall the Van isn't too bad from a few metres away. the front end bingle that it had in 07 has been mostly repaired (inner guard still need fix, paint runs underneath not rubbed back etc).
The gutters of the van aren't too bad, though the sills are starting to show the years. most panels have sections where rust repair is needed. some of the usual spots like doors and lower quarters, but i do recall a few strange spots around as well. there's a replacement dash pad and stalk to come with it, though there's be a lot of things like new rubber, afew bits of the upper tailgate's opening mechanism that would need to be done not to mention the duco, all before getting to the funstuff like stripping out the rear and starting over.
The few times its been repainted in the last five or so years i think maybe the money could have been spent a little wiser or at least some more man hours put in beforehand.
Basically at 9k probably asking a little bit too much considering it would need a ground up rebuild or its condition will deteriorate quite quicky i would summise. - perhaps a project for some one with garage space and skills.
I'm unsure what price Van ended up getting for his white Sandman, but i'm sure the extra money was well worth it for the purchaser.
Thats what i thought anyway.
