Del Rio 2009 "Dirty Weekend"
Hello Vanners,
Well what can I say but a big thankyou to all who attended this successful and enjoyable event this weekend. I would like to say a special thankyou to Fres who organised the Lodge. Thankyou to Russell and Susie who travelled from Queensland and donating some raffle prizes. Thankyou to Ben "Alley Cat" for the trouble he took in organising for his Van to be here at the event. Also thankyou to Scott for providing the powdercoated pistons for the trophies
Saturday's cruise to Tizzana Winery was a wet and dirty trip but worth it with an Ancestor of the Winery, providing a talk on the history of the Winery's colourful past. Great wine tasting, cheese and biscuits. We continued on to the Oldest Church in Australia with some great photo opportunities. Travelling around the Hawkesbury District with these fantastic Vans, even travelling on some dirt, muddy roads, did not stop these ethusastic Vanners from driving their Vans. We travelled on 4 car Ferry trips, as there are no bridges across the Hawkesbury river where we were driving.
Sunday's show and shine was supposed to be in the field with all the Kangaroos but due to the weather the Vans were parked along the road in front of the Lodge. 14 Vans were on show, but the road was closed to traffic which was great to stop cars driving amongst the vans.
Congratulations to all the trophy winners with Rhino winning Best Van.
Watch this space soon for photos of the weekend.

Sorry Dougie about Saturday. I got to spend the first day of the long weekend fixing a major breakdown for a customer. Can't complain too much cause the problem was with a competitors powder hence now I have a pretty big contract!!
Spewing I missed the wine tasting and catching up with everyone.
Tried to call but the couldn't get anyone due to reception...
Can't wait to see the photos at the next meeting!!!
Cheers,
Scott
