BTW is the sandman's body you intend to do this to already molested? there would be some people who would question the sanity of such a mod to a classic.

Mine is a genuine classic
But it's gunna be a highly modified genuine classic also.

I have'nt got a problem with that, The sandy van should be thankful it was headed to the squashers!!!
I saved it's life - I'm sure she wont' mind strapping on a set of 15x10 gts rims....

probably the post Daz was thinking of was from SXV and had some great shots of some of the work put into flaring the guards etc.

Do you remember if he's done some serious chassis modifications?
Also what tyres was he running on those massive tubs?

Cheers for the photo's I've never seen it before.

You can get an ignition resistor (Supercheap, Repco etc) to use on the coil.
Where abouts did the pink wire start to melt (not fuse box side)?

Just trying to think where the pink wire would go to in the engine bay on a pre-pollution motor.

Can't find my wiring book for your HJ yet. Sad
Yes you can put a ballast resistor in a supply wire from the ignition switch.
You could put it on the side of the coil or hide it inside if you wish.As long as it can air to cool the resistor down.

ok i lied theres one more
Technical Section or How to fix it - Page 10 Dash10
as you all know now i know nothing about electrics
so on my gts dash im puting in it has a cream wire split into a cream that comes from the main plug into the taped up dash loom (shown in photo) the cream wire has white tape stuck to it with (black earth under sill back tail lights) and on the other side it has(goes to black earth at asre end under drivers sill)and iv looked under the sill theres no black earth there
so anyone know why it would of been put in and/or what i should do with it ??

oh plus the orange wire for the clock i believe? where at the fuse box does that go to ?

cheers jake

From memory the HJ GTS dash had the "BRAKE" and "HIGH BEAM" warning lights under the clock.
IF SO, do the cream wires go to the "BRAKE" warning light.

If it's YES then the spare cream wire will go to the switch on the handbrake.

OPPS! missed one.
The orange wire will go to a fuse which has constant power.

Pink wire on a HZ goes to the idle solenoid on the carby, a solenoid for the vacuum control to dissy (Near the carby), Kick down switch (Auto & on the accelerator pedal inside), reverse light switch, guages.
