WELL I AM PISSED RIGHT OFF

The bloke i was buying the front off just messaged me and said he sold it to some one else. Arsehole. He gave me first option because i drove 2 hours to look at it, i told him i would buy it and he had my word i would pick it up and he agreed on the price and we spoke about me picking it up on sunday. I am sure i know who he has sold it to for a higher price because he told me this person was interested after i looked at it and he told this person i had first option on it, so much for gentlemans agreement. If it wasn't what i wanted after getting it i was going to contact this person and offer it to him for what i paid for it, but i have had the rug pulled out from under my feet. NOT HAPPY when a vanner does that to another vanner.
Most of you will work out who it was soon, i am not mentioning any names.

That's a bit rough on both the sellers AND new buyers behalf.
I hope the new owner of it realizes what has happened and lets you have it.

I must say that i am not really pissed off at the new owner, just really pissed off the guy selling it broke his agreement with me, just sold it just like that

I would have thought that the seller would have given you till Sunday to pick it up and then rang the next one in line.

OK lets get a few things straight. Yep i'm the new owner of this front but at NO time did I know that you had also looked at it James, the guy didn't even mention anyone else until the night after I made an offer on it. The then said that someone had looked at it the day before and he had first option so i said ok call me if he doesn't want it. The next day he called me and said if I would pay him what his asking price was i could have it (AND I still did not know it was you) Naturally I said i would pay what he want because EVERYONE new how much i need one for these fronts Especially you James as I was not the only one to contact you about trying to find a Meteor front for my rebuild. I didn't know you where the other guy until I got several PM's for members of this site the day after I brought saying you had the Sh!ts with me. And as for giving the front up, you have got to KIDDING !!!!!!!!! this is probably the only one for these fronts left for sale in Australia and I think it would look much better on Alley Cat seeing it had a Meteor front that XX308 which had a Monza front . James if you would have called me first up we could have worked something out. I only wanted a mould of the front clip the rest was of no interest to me. If you got a beef with me give me a call because at NO time did i try to rip you dude and I have Never said a bad thing about you.

I'm glad that there is a good explanation Rhino. As i said i was quite surprised that you would have done that. Hope it looks good on Alley Cat. Can't wait to see the pics of it.

To let others know i have chatted with Rhino about this and there was no hard feelings towards him, as i said i was pissed off with the guy for selling it on me before being given the chance to pick it up. Appreciate you writting on here Rhino and giving your explanation, i never said anything bad of you either as i did not even know if you new it was me that was buying it. In the end you probably did me a favour as it would of needed lots of work for me to adapt for XX. Hope it works out for you.

Great news

Got a phone call today from Marilyn Ellis, the widow of Steve Ellis, builder of XX. She was great to talk to and knew everything about the van still and is interested in seeing how it is today, so i have emailed her plenty of photos. She will be passing on photos of XX too. Can't wait for that. It was a long search to find her, even emails from the USA to lead me to her. Stay tuned.
