Power steering bracket spacers Empty Power steering bracket spacers

Post by shorts 2/3/2010, 5:29 am

Hi,

Can anyone tell me the length of the spacers (3) for the power steering pump? These are the ones that space the bracket away from the head (driver's side) and I believe are between 3.5 and 4 inches.

Cheers
Craig

PS yes this van will see daylight eventually

that looks like an old pump from a commodore. and when its bolted up it leans slighty to the drivers side. i have one like that and i used a 30mm spacer. before i got the spacer i went to the local bolt shop and bought about 15 nuts and a hand full of washers that fit over the bolts that hold the bracket in place and spaced out what i need. the nuts i used to space out the bulk was 10mm. you may need slightly more of less depnding on what crank pulley your using also.

It is on the drivers side but the spacing has to be over 60mm. I made up some 60mm spacers and the belt did not line up. One way I tried measuring was telling me about 100mm

what crank pulley are you using. say j x and z power steering spacers are about 45mm long. being 100mm long you would end up with too much flex. you would snap a bolt and or go thru alot of belts.
