Howdy from another newbie.
Howdy all,
Have recently stumbled across this great site and have decided to join to get better connected with the vanning community.
A brief outline of my vanning history is as follows:
Way back in 1977 (I think) I was dragged along to Horsham (Vic) showgrounds by a couple of older mates to my very first van show. I have since been told that this was part of the first ever van nats held at Halls Gap.
I was then a very green 17 year old but remember being amazed at the magnificent machines on display.
It was this event that started me on a lifelong path of vanning, as only 12 months later I bought my first Holden van. That was a 1968 HK windowless van complete with 307 Chev.
Since those days I have had the following Holden vans in in order.
HK, HX, TD Gemini, WB, EJ (2) EH (5).
Sold my last EH about three years ago and have been vanless until now.
I have just taken delivery of my brand new 2010 VE van recently and am stoked to be back into vanning again.
Anyway I look forward to contributing to the forum.

Re: Howdy from another newbie.
Thanks for the welcome guys. Sorry but I have no idea how to post pics (computer dunce).
The van has so far got a total of 378 k,s on the clock. This was the distance from the dealership back to home. I live up in the Wimmera region of north- west Victoria.
But it is already being hit with the modification stick. Being lowered today and next week it cops an exhaust upgrade to get it sounding like a real V8. I have also just fitted 20 inch wheels to it.
With regards to the nats I have talked to the guys running it and am interested. Hoping to be able to get some more of my planned mods completed and if that can be done in time, I may come for a run down.
Wasnt too sure how the new vans would be received but at the end of the day I guess they are the future if vanning is going to move forward.
Anyway thats the update for now.
Happy Cruising.

Re: Howdy from another newbie.
Hi, there. in the General Forum where u posted your topic, at the top is a topic on how to post pics. suggest you reduce them in size, generally around 50% otherwise they'll take forever to load and the pic will be tooooo big. Daz doesn't do much all day (LOL) so if all else fails, he can give you a hand (can't u Daz?). U should come down to the nats either way.... bring your camping gear and stay and join the party for a few days . The family is welcome too of course, we're a family orientated event with lots to do and see on the island and surrounding area. The new vans are received well, in particular if modified - just like any other van. There were contentious issues to start with, but let's face it... most of us are old skool vanning however, we do accept all vans, but alas the old vans are becoming few and far between so breadbox vans, transit vans, the new merc vans and the new holden vans are all welcome.... having said that, the classics will never die. Bring your van along and show it off, the more the merrier and we all appreciate what everyone contributes to the van scene.

Re: Howdy from another newbie.
Hey all,
Picked up my van today from the suspension crowd. Now running a very nice low ride. Really looks sensational with the new 20 inch rims. Also checked with the other half about posting a few pics, but she said because we are only on dial up out here that it takes forever to resize and post. Sometimes its a real bummer not being able to get broadband. Oh well if I manage to get to the nats I dont think it will be too difficult to spot and grab some pics. Now for that new exhaust....
