Re: Vanrat - anyone remember the history?
Hi Glen and thanks for the info, would love to see some more photos. It's always great to find out more history on iconic vans. If you would like to get in contact with Steve , join up on facebook on Diamond Valley Vanners, he is a regular on our facebook page, i will let him know about you too. Would be great if you can post some pics, thanks
James

Re: Vanrat - anyone remember the history?
I have had a good look around the site and some vans really jog the memory and some I have missed over time due to other interests mainly sports sedan racing at club level.
I am not a facebook person and this site helps me research the history.
Brutel looks the goods and I am wondering if you can register a big block van in Victoria today?
Here's some more pics but I am getting to the bottom of the barrel!
Double exposure on the first one!!! Remember that!
Glenn.

Great stuff Glenn, glad the site brings back memories, come on Bill, show us some pics you have.
Glenn, who owned the Judge back then, was it Danny? Certainly one of my favourite big vans of all time.
Keep the photos coming

Yeh, Danny owned it at that stage. I remember that trip well as it rained the night before and the sunroof was open. Wet backside all the way!!!!

RE : Tangerine Dream
Hi Guys
if we are talking about a HQ Panel Van named Tangerine Dream ..i worked for a car yard in Frankston and the van was traded back in the mid 80's .when we got it ,it had a chev 350 with a 4 speed top loader in it.the back was decked out immaculately and the wheels were the best for around that time.and the murals on the side and front and back were amazing...The van was bought by a navy guy who was based at Cerebus at crib point . he had only had it about a month and wrapped it around a tree after hitting the bridge that claimed a lot of navy guys. the van was a right off and i have a feeling the navy guy may have been killed not positive about that .the van was bought back to us and we salvaged what we could of it and the rest went to sims metals.
hopefully we are talking about the same van .

van rat
i bought the old van rat from a guy at mount marther vic in 2004 i think it was for sale on ebay.i drove back to qld the van was in bad shape rust and the interior was in poor shape. had rust cut out and repainted pearl yellow interior was striped out and replaced with black carpet.the guy i bought it from had put a 253 in and it was on duel fuel.i now have a 308 installed the seats and door trim has been replaced i also removed the rear wing off the top.it is still rego in vic and the old plates are still on the van.it is up for sale on carsales.com.au

Re: Vanrat - anyone remember the history?
I have seen the pics of the van, if I had the cash I would buy it no worries, I have 2 vehicles I am trying to sell which would help. It looks great in the yellow pearl
