WB Statesman wiring diagrams
Hey another thing I seem to need now is a WB Statesman wiring diagram as I have the central locking and electric windows going in my van. Problem is my Statesman loom has been cut at the firewall. Anybody able to help with schematics?

It may sound dumb but have you checked the plug on the motor and checked the fuses??

Just a thought, have you got the metal strip on that goes from the motor to the body??

Got it thanx.... that helps a lot. I have all the interior looms and had what I thought were far too many relays and stuff under the dash. That makes some sense of the relay block now, as well as figuring out the intermittent wiper control. Also have worked out all the air conditioning wiring now.... Reckon its 90% sussed out now...

OK now we are getting into the nitty gritty.....
I have a few WB Speedos and own of them has a 3 pin connection which I assume is some sort of electronic speed sensor for cruise control.... Anyone have any clues on this setup??? Or is there any after market gear that will hook into this??
I have so many bits of wiring left over from my original rewire which is getting tested this week - put a 40 pin plug on the Statesman interior loom and connected the front loom I had to it and all seems to be well... have not done the air cond loom yet and will be splicing relays in for the headlights as well...

Hey Guys, woodvan wrote:our window wipers do not work, do you have a clue what could cause it
Mine stopped the other day and the problem was that the nut that holds the linkage arms to the crank arm had come loose and jammed up. The other problem was the fact the gears were dry inside so i packed it full of grease and tightened the nut and they're like brand new.

That problem doesn't occur very much anymore Scott.
I thought most of them had spring washers under the nuts nowadays.

doesnt that metal earth strap help with wiper returning to the home position when you turn off your wipers.

...and you should always check everything as you go to eliminate causes to solve the actual problem......

no its 3 round pins in line. one end of the connertor is pointed. is definitely some sort of speed sensor...
Oh and to add to my issues... Central locking actuators... I have 2 types... one motorised and one like a big solenoid. The motorised ones work by reversed polarity on 2 pins - the solenoids work on voltage to one of two pins and earth.... which one did WB statesmans use???

Aha... well that speedo is toast... I think i can (if I decide to go trip computer) transplant the internal electronics to another speedo...
And yeah its been a while... Had a few business issues sorta freeze progress on this car... But today was a milestone. First connection of a battery and fired the engine up. I joined a few looms together and have a 40 odd pin plug just inside the firewall hooking everything up. So far only had 2 purple wires mismatched so a quick pin swap got that all running. All Headlight relays I installed work and now its on to the instrumentation and Air Cond systems.
I put a 4 blade fuse box just near the battery to drive Hi beam, Lo beam, Air Cond and the rest of the car. Instead of running from the Starter motor, the main power goes directly to that fuse box. I also gutted the interior fuse box and epoxied in a 5 blade and 7 blade strip so goodbye glass fuses...
Anyways it didnt start smoking or popping fuses so thats a Plus....
