Neville in Da Flesh Empty Neville in Da Flesh

Post by Guest 26/3/2009, 10:37 pm

Well after a think about Wally and recent family member not mixing well I opted for another classic this time with options, didnt want a statesman but a Premier, posted a wanted add about and within in 2 days had caught a nibble

Got a txt like this, '' HZ prem wag, 106k km, 5L T400, air, ps,tint, pwr gate, GTS dash, orig and ROH mags $2500 firm''

I wasnt blown away, went to inspect that weekend wow what a time warp, been stored for 5 years, and hardly driven before then was his old mans cars, and he parked it and went OS for a bit,

I had to have a good hard think Wally or this, perfect family truck with mod cons, and classic looks, fired up after 5 years, and sounded sweet, left deposit, advertsied van and sold first day within a hour

Picked the Premier up got a pinky and drove it home, once home gave it a bath and took it down for bluey passed stright away

Tell me will our current moderns be like this in 30 years

So this is my Sports Wagon, better then my VE, Air is instant, had that old school grunt, and is the ulitmate cruiser with sleeper looks and nasty sting when need be

Fresh paint on top side and thats all it needs, GTS Rims from van on there, and dual exuast with some extractors, perhaps quad tips like the SS, and that should do for a bit

Enjoy

very nice. With the gts rims it will look super. Go for some GTS mirrors as well as they make a huge difference to the appearance. Can't believe all the side moldings are still intact.

Not bad at all.... (still miss Wally..... Sad ). Lookin good, like u say, a bit of paint, or even just a polish would soon buff it up well. The interior looks very good.... and hey, so what if it's a wagon, I used to get threatened by the Hot Rodders about a chop job on my wagon and the vanners wanted to weld up the rear doors.... Very Happy - now there are some options to think about too lol! lol! I used to joke my wagon was a panel van with a couple of extra doors and windows.... Laughing Laughing Well done!

Yeah, I put those those mirrors on my ute this week... Make a huge difference, really sets the whole thing off.

That`s a very nice Prem you picked up there Wal. For two and half grand I`d say bargain!

No pix yet with the `new` mirrors there Agro. Got heaps of pix with the WB mirrors though...
I`m actually having second thoughts about those GTS mirrors.... You can see sweet F.A. out of them! I`m thinking about putting those WB mirrors back on...

It`s only a `replica` BTW... It`s actually a WB lol! The ute is a big hit everywhere it goes though...
People take pix of it at the lights and videos of it on the highway etc etc

All-in-all a home back-yard job done properly!

I could`nt have done it without my brother who did most of the work including spraying it (acrylic)...
I did a fair bit of it though (including paying for it)...

I got the idea to do it when I saw pix of Rustys replica`77 Sandman off fastlane.com and said to myself... I JUST WANT ONE!

Did`nt quite do my research that well though...
I never knew HZ sandman was V8 option only... Looks like a thumpin 308 will be going into it afterall... plus a set of fat-slappers all-round. I think I`ll keep the ride hieght the same though, it`s very practical.

I`ll get off your thread now Wal...

It`s absynth yellow with brown decals...
I wonder why it was`nt a more popular colour combo because in the flesh it looks pretty bloody good!

Devilsgrip,
I used to own a HJ windowless panno for a fair while but never again... They`re just too hard to see out of the back of for me (no matter how good they look)... with the ute I can just take a quick looksie in the rear mirror or over the left shoulder and I know exactly where everthing is.

No point blacking the number plate out anymore... The ute has been well and truly snapped over Nth Bris in the last month or so it`s been back on the road and I`ll be back out driving it again in the morning Very Happy

Thanks for nice comments fellas... I`m glad other people like it too.
