HZ Panelvan tailgate problem
Can anyone help me with a problem I have on the upper tailgate seal? It is a new seal and I can't lock the tail gate down the seal seems to be too thick. Also is the bottom of this seal supposed to be glued on? Any help would be appreciated as this is the only thing that is holding me up from rego.

Hey Moppo,
There should be plenty of adjustment in the striker plates for the locks and also the top hinges will move as well to help get enough space for the seal.
Hope this helps,
Scott

Re: HZ Panelvan tailgate problem
Hello Moppo,
I've just recently replaced my seals top and bottom (on the tailgate of the panel van!!). I found too that they didn't want to shut properly, more so the top than the bottom. I didn't do any adjusting, I've just been slamming it shut... ouch, yes i know, but it's just that the seal needs to compress into shape and place for it to seal properly... did mine around about a month ago and it's fine now. Also, yes, you do need to glue the bottom of the seal in place, i used kwick grip, a small paintbrush, cover both the tailgate and the rubber, not too thick though, let it do it's thing for the 15 mins or whatever it says on the can and then press on to the tailgate. Mine sits fine now.
hope this helps.
thanks Maz

Re: HZ Panelvan tailgate problem
Hi Moppo,
Van looks great by the way. Yeah bloody rare spares tight fitment as usual. I'm still getting grief from mine that has been there 5 weeks. Ajusted top hinges and side cathers to get it to shut, hit a bump and it pops open still. I just have to adjust a small bit and it will be fine.
