NEW HOMES FOR OLD SHOW VANS
It's been a busy couple of months for the movement of Old/Current show vans.
3 Vans have changed hands in recent times but unfortunately i can only fill you in on one of them at present, the other two are quiet at the moment.
As many will know a couple of months ago i sold Mystic Fantasy. The new owner is very happy with it and is currently making a few changes to a few things and should be seen again this coming summer.
One other show van "may" soon be on the market too, stay tuned, you guys will be the first to know.

Re: NEW HOMES FOR OLD SHOW VANS
Ok, an update on the movement of Show Vans
Brett today sold Street Legal, the van is still in Victoria
The Beast has a new owner, also in Victoria
Jade has a new owner and also still in Victoria
So there is a very good chance that 2 or even 3 of the vans could be at the Vic state titles In October

Anyway it probably couldn't have got it rego'd up here, so it would have been a waste.

Why not Agro? It was originally built and registered in NSW

Would need a new engineers report, and they won't pass chrome suspension or the engine out of the bonnet.

Re: NEW HOMES FOR OLD SHOW VANS
It was broken about 5 years ago by a panel shop so a new one has to be made. It will be getting a standard bonet cut and fitted first until the new perspex one can be afforded

The biggest problem has been finding a place with a big enough oven to mould it, we have a few contacts still to chase up, hopefully soon it will get done

Re: NEW HOMES FOR OLD SHOW VANS
There is a guy in Geelong who does HUGE vacuum formed signs, he would have a heater setup plenty large to do this job, also acrylic bath and spa manufacturers have large acrylic heaters for the forming.
Bugger of a job but well woth the effort to get it back to orgional.
Do you know how Gary orgionally did it? I have heard stories where the sheet was heated up and formed on top of another bonnet....??

How does the roof spoiler mount onto Jade?
Is it just a couple of bolts each side, that come from inside of the van outwards?

I had one many years ago, it had self tappers from inside the van into the legs, so just a bolt on
They werent very popular these type of roof spoilers but I dont mind them

Re: NEW HOMES FOR OLD SHOW VANS
I've got a bobtail & John Goss style, but i wasn't sure if i'd like one of them on my van.
Bobtail - i like but gee you notice the drag caused by it
John Goss - looks odd, especially from the back
Condor - I can't decide on an opinion yet

Agro, i have had a mould done for those spoilers, but the guy stuffs me around so i am going to get another one done by the other glasser that i use, price is around $160-$180
Grunt, the Geelong place you are saying has been mentioned, just a matter of getting there to see if it can be done.
That was what i was told too about how Gary had the bonnet made
