Where have all the vanners gone

I left Perth on the 31/07/2011 travelled across W.A, across S.A, all the way to Canberra, on to Sydney, on to Grafton, back to Coffs and saw ""1"" ( ONE ) Van. Not a van that had been done up, OH NO, just an old work van. W.T.F. Were is every one?????? Very Disapointing.

i know, i travel alot with work and im lucky to see a van once a month, nearly all are beat up and rusty.

Man i see heaps around the place, just hard to stop them when on the road all day but i do speak to plenty. I thought NSW was going through a vanning boom at the moment, seems to be alot going on in WA as well, you must of been out during work hours Dodgey, lol

Work hours, don't swear at me I'm on Holidays. Still keeping an eye out, We leave Grafton & head to Cairns tomorrow so hopefully I'll see a few out there. Cairns back to Perth, I still havn't plotted a course yet. I'll let you know.

the best coarse is where ever you go, enjoy and have fun, wish i could do it

a few more vans in my area wouldn't hurt, theres a white eh and a yellow sandman and thats about it, and of course a blue escort.

Any chance of snapping a few pics of the white EH van next time you see it up there. EH vans are the ultimate cool ride for me.

The "purple one" is actually more a burgundy and is SweatPea who resides in Qld.... and yes, very nice van...

82 users on the sandman forum... and me myself and i on vanners forum.... maybe we could do something different with the site? change the layout... start a chatbox? or somethg....

and majestic only have 3 on their site.....

I thought the idea of these sites were to unite the vanning community, not put further divisions in place.

You would have to realise that many users are members on all three sites...

Negative statements like this only further damage an already fractured vanning community. With the scene being as small as it is, you would think that every effort would be made to unite vanners not divide them.

we all need to have a hug and look to the future, we are all vanners and they rule!!!!!

I myself really like the Sandman site.I don't know if it's because the vans that are discussed on there are 71 - 79 (HQ - HZ).
It's also got the latest posts since last visited and the headings are easily read. (Unlike the Green etc on here and it's difficult to know whether you've read a certain topic or not).
Brighten up the colour scheme a little bit, making it interesting and appealing to look at,not have it so dull, boring and depressing.

Also feel IMO, that maybe have a section where discussions and questions are held for say....certain vans (eg Holden Vans, Ford Vans, Big Vans & Small Vans) because you soon get jack of looking at Ford Vans if your interested in Holden Vans and Vica Versa.

Shout boxes are good if you have regular visitors because if there is only 1 or 2 people on, not much chat happens.

Just a few idea's that i have to maybe entice some more visitors.

Also in the "cruises" section, have a state by state section.

It's not a competition... i was merely stating that things have gone quiet again on the forum and was wondering what we could do to get people more involved again... did also make some suggestions similar to what Agro suggested in the hope that some changes could be made.... I've been on Majestic vanners site too and the look is better than what the vanners forum is.... its brighter etc... looks more "friendly" as the colours aren't as dark as on here and the space isn't taken up by the borders... (no offence to admin intended here). And in regards to uniting vanners... well MV doesn't attend the nats anymore and do their own thing... they don't join in anymore... most people would be happy to forget about the past... but keeping things separate doesn't help that.... i am not opening another can of worms here, i am merely stating that vanning could be a better community if everyone would pitch in together or even just say hello.... I enjoy mysandman forum a lot more cos they do discuss technical issues etc, even tho i don't have a sandman, help is available for questions, there is also a technical section you can read up on info on vans or vanning in general.... the info is posted from peoples who seem to know and have the technical knowledge.
