'73 HQ Panelvan
Hey there guys and girls,
Long time viewer of threads on here, and I thought it was long overdue for me to contribute something. I am a Majestic Vanner and spend alot of my time posting on that website.
I have been asked to post some pics of my van on here, so here goes:

Thanks mate,
I'm not too sure why the photos have been chopped, I've probably uploaded them too big for this site - perhaps a moderater can adjust them for me? or tell me what size they need to be to display in full?

Thanks Andrew, yours will be as good - I'm sure of it! I can't wait to see it take shape, alot of effort has gone into it already.
I look forward to seeing the body work finished, and your body mods completed, (bonnets, flares, spoiler) and the side pipes! It will be awesome when your color goes on.

Thanks 'menace,
The color is a '95 Nissan color: 'Burgandy Wine Pearl Metallic'
- I don't know what car it came out on, I just chose it from a color chart book at an auto paint shop, I tried to choose the darkest, redest, moron I could and this is what I found.
I have often thought I should have chose a really dark cherry red as I have always loved that color, but I really like this color, so when it comes time to respray (I hope to in the next couple of years) it will be resprayed the same.
Cheers,
Karl.

Re: '73 HQ Panelvan
Hey there Hqvan very cool van,I got a soft spot for the HQ vans.. makes me wish I never sold my Q'ie. I owned it from 82-89.
It was a 73 Belmont with factory 253 4speed, gts dash and steering wheel & buckets.
With all that gear i often wonder if I owned one of the 1st series sandmans???
this was mine all those years ago..

Re: '73 HQ Panelvan
Hey Ramble,
Thanks for the comments, and thanks for sharing some pics of your old Q! Very cool.
The HQ is definitely my favourite of the HQ-WB series, I just love the lines of them, especially at the front, I feel they lost a bit of their style when they squared off the front in the HJ-HZ, and even more so in WB.
Even the lines down the length of the body seem to have more curve to them, probably emphasized because they flow into the nosecone.
Cheers,
Karl.

That's a Great looking Van you have there Karl!
Luv the Colour. Who painted it?
The Sticker on the Back Window looks like meant to be there.
... and Geoff your HQ was certainly a nice looking Van as well.

Rusty!

Thanks Rusty!
I painted the van myself, with some help from my mate.
It the first car I have painted, done in an backyard with one of those beaver blowers!
It has held up pretty good after 8 years.
I want to get it resprayed again one day. But not for a couple of years yet, it has only been back on the road since january. I had to wait 3 years to rebuild the motor for it, I am going to enjoy it for a while before I pull it off the road again!

I wouldn't worry too much Karl. It's all to do with Screen Resolution and how many Pixels it can fit in.
The Wide Borders on this Site also mean less space for Pics.
If anyone veiwing the Pic saves it to their Computer and the opens it they'll see the whole thing.
I hope that makes sense.
Regards
Rusty!
Re: '73 HQ Panelvan
You can also shrink them in Photoshop or pic viewer or whatever program you use... i usually shrink to about 50% and that makes the pic fit better, both on this forum, mysandman forum and F/B.
hope this helps.
thanks
Maz
hope this helps.
