welcome, no ones from the wrong side here as vanning and the passion for vans is what its about no matter when in your life you turn to them, also the street machine blood in your veins can help you to build some out side the box, like Brutle has done and others.
anyway good luck with your hunting

Welcome to the site mate. i remember the Monaro. your dad loved them. he took me for a little drive in the HQ before he bought a little Gemini to drive to Wollongong Tafe.i was stoked as at the time id never been in a car with twin carbs poking thru the bonnet. it looked cool. at the course we teased him about him fitting in the Gemini .we did a spray painting and a air brush course together. i remember jumping in the back of his bronco and crusing around the nats. he was larger than life and always had time for a chat when i seen him at car shows.

Hey I'm new here as well, I didn't think it should warrant a new thread post.
I owned an HQ Sandman back in 1984, shag carpet lining, mirror ball, redback spider gear shift, CB etc, man I thought I was something.
Picked up an HJ Sandman in November last year and taking the big adventure of a bare metal restore, going original all the way (wow times have changed). Anyway joined up to the Vanning community websites to see what's going on.
My restore blog is http://madman76.blogspot.com/
