XX 308 FOR SALE

James is this the original XX308 owned by Steve Ellis,..?

bugger..it was one of the vans that got me hooked on vanning back in the 70's...LOVED IT..toughest looking van ever i reckon.......besides finishing it as a project ,you would have to spend more money to change so many things on it to take it back to it's original XX308 glory ...sunroof, side windows,fuel fillers,tail lights , bumpers etc.........hope it does go to a good home though

no , sorry Agro ...that's all i've seen of it...but , to me , it and Mr Damage we're the best looking vans with side windows...

wow it still exists i came accross a ute at summernats same blue with identical flares and thought someone had made a ute outa it thats good it has has a good home for the moment

Gidday Harry, sorry bout the late reply, yeah its the real deal mate. It is not going anywhere now, i will keep it, i want to find a copy of the monza front it had to put on it.

Yep. I SEEN THA LIGHT!!!! Would of had trouble parting wit it anyway. It owes me nothing now so it may as well sit till i am ready, once i get the Easyroller finished then i will decide what i am doing with my Sundowner and then XX will get the attention it needs

Don't take this to offence but it looks nothing like it's former glory day's but with the work that has gone into it it will sell I hope it goes to a good home.

Thanks Buzz, i have plans for it but will have to wait for the funds to roll in after the other projects get done, im in no hurry, i plan to do the interior as close as possible to the original.
Like many top vans back in the 80's, it went through some major changes before i got it so i will not be putting the windows in the side or the moon roof

The thing is some of these guy's who get these iconic vans just have no idea and trash them and just don't care

But at least you are saving it and good to see you keeping it and giving back some of it's former glory and dignity

Hey Buzz, so true, it really is the same for most top modified/show vehicles, new owners just don't take the pride the builder has, just have to be lucky that a enthusiast buys it. I have had the van for over 10 years now and will finish it one day.

Hey James. Its funny I was just flickin through my CTV No6 while reading this post and came across Steve and Maz Ellis's XX308 at the Indropilly van Nats.

And there you have it sitting in your stable. Nice to see your going to keep it and bring it back to its glory days
