Noob Sandman plate question
Hey guys.
I have a couple questions in relation to Sandmans.
First of all, how can you tell from the plate if it is a Sandman or not.
Also - were all sandmans V8's, or were there some 6 cyl Sandmans as well.
What are the tell tale signs of a Sandman?
Sorry for being a "Noob" in this area. It's something I'm not very educated in.

Re: Noob Sandman plate question
you will have to look at the seating cap. the body code. the trim colour code and GVM of the van your looking at. brisbane built sandmans i.d is different from Adelaide. im too sure about the HQ. most sandmans were 253 as standard. option for the 6 or 308. HZ Sandman dropped the 6 option. but alot of things were swaped at the dealers and things were changed at the different plants when they were assembled. only Qld and S.A built van bodies. but they were put together at all plants. look at the chassis number. the last letter will tell you what plant it came from. S-Sydney M-Melbourne and so on.

Hello, believe the following may assist in your quest to find out about Sandmans. www.sandmanowners.com There's a bit of knowledge on this site, but the sandman owners club can help. There's a page on their about the different Sandmans, they're located in Ocean Grove.
Hope this helps.
